Targeted Mosquito Spraying Upper Pine Street Area Sept. 5th

The Manchester Board of Health has been notified by N.E. Mosquito Control of a West Nile Virus positive mosquito pool in Hamilton, near the Manchester town line.  Targeted truck spraying for mosquitoes is scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight (weather permitting)

Areas Treated Will Include the Following:
·       Upper Pine Street (from corner of Pleasant Street/Pleasant Grove Cemetery onto "dump road" to the Hamilton line)
·       Parsons Lane
·       Crooked Lane
·       Old Wenham Way
·       Moses Hill Road
·       Harrington Way
·       Rockwood Heights Road
·       Anthony Avenue
·       Pinewood Road
The Board of Health encourages all residents to continue to protect themselves from mosquitoes.
Reduce The Number of Mosquitoes / Drain Standing Water Where Mosquitoes Can Breed
·       Twice a week, empty all water from flower pots, pet food dishes, birdbaths, swimming pool covers, kiddie pools, and containers left outside on your property.
·       Check your rain gutters to be sure that they are not clogged and clear them if necessary
·       Remove discarded items on your property that could collect water (i.e. old tires)
Avoid Mosquito Bites
·       If weather permits, wear long pants and shirts when you are outdoors
·       As your schedule allows, avoid outdoor activities from dusk to dawn
·       Apply mosquito repellent to exposed skin and clothing
·       Keep all window and door screens in good repair
·       Use mosquito netting over infant carriers and strollers when outdoors
