BEGINNER TAE KWON DO

Learn the world's most popular martial art from a Master Instructor. Tae Kwon Do is an artistic discipline, an Olympic sport and a system of self defense. Master Instructor Brian Malik is a former US National Champion and former Head Coach of the Massachusetts Jr. Olympic Team. He has trained thousands of students,

including a dozen National Champions, at his Marblehead Studio. The training is fairly intense. Students will do more push-ups than the football team and more stretching than the track team, and while they rest, they'll listen to talks on topics such as respect, perseverance and self-discipline. Offered to grades 1-6.

(No class on 10/31 & 11/7)

NEW!!!! Strategy Club w/ Mr. McDonough

Strategy games are kind of a hobby for me, I am always on the lookout for interesting new games in the genre as well as introducing classic games to a new generation. I love card games, deck builders, world domination, dice, mental, and rpg's. During club we will be playing games such as Magic the Gathering, building and testing new decks, possibly running a draft. A few new games that we will be trying out include Rampage, Forbidden Desert, Small World, Dominion and a few others. We will be focusing on newer games in the genre but there will be old staples available to all. I am super excited to be offering this club again and can't wait to see who shows up! Class will run every Monday starting September 15th and run till November 10th (No class 10/13). Program will take place in Mr. McDonough's classroom from 3-4. Pick up is at the front of the school.

FREE OLYMPIC FENCING DEMO DAY AT MEMORIAL SCHOOL COURT YARD

Has your child been begging you to try Fencing? Then this is for you! Come down and enjoy a FREE demonstration with the nice guys from 3MB Fencing. They will put on a 45 minute demonstration on fencing and answer all your question and concerns with the Olympic sport . Parents please stay with your children during this demonstration.

OLYMPIC FENCING~WEEKLY PROGRAM

Join 3MB Fencing and learn how to Fence! Learn basic footwork, timing, handwork, offensive and defensive skills for this Olympic Sport. It's fun and it's fast! This class is specifically designed for participants ages 8 and up. Come give it a try. Participants only need to bring a glove for the fencing hand (a batting glove or similar). Participants should wear sneakers to class.

New Session of Elementary Tennis Added!
The 4:00 session of Elementary Tennis has filled so we added another one! 
New Elementary Tennis starts at 3:10 at the Brook St Tennis Courts!  Coach Ken will instruct this class.  Ken Rawson is a certified PTR Pro and has been a teacher and tennis advocate for over 35 years. 
The goal of the clinic is to maximize tennis experience in a fun and safe environment and to develop tennis skills that will be useful for a lifetime. All levels welcome, students will focus on eye hand, stroke mechanics, repetitive motion, singles/doubles and basic strategy. 

The class will start Monday, September 15th and end on Monday, October 20th. Class is 50 minutes long. (No 10/13)  $60.00

Play Group for Children Ages 3-5 at Manchester Memorial

Parents of children ages 3-5 are invited to register for Music, Books, and More with Lisa Cheney, a weekly play group.  This group is targeted to all preschool age children, including those not currently enrolled in the Manchester-Essex Regional Preschool. 

What:  Music, Books and More! with Lisa Cheney

A music & movement story time for parents and children ages 3-5.  This playgroup  emphasizes literacy, cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Learn about your child’s development while you play, move, explore instruments, sing, read and have fun together.

When: Fridays, September 12-December 19, 8:45am –9:30am

LEGO Engineering FUNdamentals

Power up your engineering skills with Play-Well TEKnologies and tens of thousands of LEGOs! Apply real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture through engineer designed projects such as arch bridges, skyscrapers, motorized cars, and the Battletrack! Design and build as never before, and explore your craziest ideas in a supportive environment. An experienced instructor will challenge new and returning students to engineer at the next level. This club is designed for children ages 7-11.

 Chess Club during the summer!!! This Chess Club will give students the opportunity to develop their thinking skills in an intellectually challenging environment. All levels of play are welcome. Come and try your hand at the classic, dynamic game of Chess. This club will meet for three weeks in the High School Library and is taught by our favorite 7th grade teacher, Mr. Stefanek. Junk Festival at Boston Children's Museum - July 27th

Hooray for Junk! We will be honoring junk on July 27th from 11am-4pm at Boston Children’s Museum! Come make something with junk, watch and listen to something awesome being played on junk, buy some Museum junk to take home, or make some noise in our junk sound garden! 

JUNK: old or discarded articles that are considered useless or of little value. 
The Museum's definition of JUNK: fabulous objects that can be used to make any and everything!
What will be happening during our Junk Festival?
•Scrapkins from Brooklyn, NYC will be creating a collaborative “Junk Re-Thunk Monster!” 
•Extras for Creative Reuse will be collaborating with us to do our second Pop-Up Recycle Shop and they will be leading workshops using all their recycled goodies. 
•Local artist and musician Adam Schutzman will be performing with some of his awesome junk instruments and leading a junk instrument making workshop.
•Duck That, a local improve trio where everybody plays game calls, the little plastic toys that hunters use to make animals come, will be performing. 
•Local artist Anthony Palocci Jr. will be making a HUGE collaborative sculpture out of cardboard.
•Our Museum Junk Sound Garden will be outside on the boardwalk to make some music with! 
•Museum Yard Sale
