History and Purpose

Founded more than 20 years ago to provide support to local mothers, the Manchester Mothers’ Club now proudly counts more than 100 members from communities throughout Cape Ann. We are moms who love our children, friends and community. We work hard to make a difference and have fun. Functioning solely through the volunteer efforts of our members, the club coordinates events to bring mothers together in the spirit of support and friendship and sponsors many children’s activities. Staple programs include Meals for New Moms, Girls Night Out, social functions for adults, and Friday playgroups, as well as seasonal celebrations for the entire community. You won't want to miss the Wobblin' Goblin, Jingle Bell Walk, Easter Egg Hunt, and Family Fun Day. The MMC also works hard to support the greater community through fundraising and service projects. General fundraising efforts allow the club to make annual contributions to many local causes, including an annual scholarship to a Manchester/Essex High School graduate.  We have been privileged to provide needed items, assistance, and support to families in need in our community and even overseas.

With many local alumni families, the MMC continues to be a valuable community resource, allowing its members the opportunity to create and foster many lasting friendships. As the MMC enters a new year, we invite new and current members to explore what’s new for children and families, tap into a social and supportive network for moms, and seek opportunities to reach out to other members and communities in which we live.
